Join us for a full-day, hands-on workshop designed for Dakota Prairie Commons Explorers and Members. This is an exciting moment in our journey—a chance to learn together, build relationships, and take meaningful steps toward shaping South Dakota’s first cohousing community.

Explorer Status Encouraged

This workshop is created for those who want to be more deeply involved in Dakota Prairie Commons.
If you’re not yet an Explorer but are feeling curious or inspired, we warmly invite you to take that next step by becoming an Explorer. The $200 Explorer fee includes your workshop registration and opens the door to deeper engagement with our forming community.

What the Day Will Look Like

Throughout this interactive and welcoming workshop, you’ll:

  • Learn how cohousing works, and what makes it a meaningful way to live.

  • Explore the Dakota Prairie Commons vision and our upcoming development milestones.

  • Engage in friendly group conversations about values, priorities, goals, and hopes for the community.

  • Connect with fellow Explorers and Members, strengthening relationships and building trust.

  • Participate in early design and planning conversations that will influence how our neighborhood will take shape.

A Moment of Shared Vision

As we look ahead, we’ll begin shaping several important aspects of the community—like the types of homes we’ll offer and the overall feel of our neighborhood. Your presence and perspective will help guide these early steps in a thoughtful, community-centered way.

Why This Day Matters

By the end of the workshop, Explorers will have the opportunity to become Equity Members, gaining priority home selection and a more active role as we move toward development.
